Our Church School for children age 3 through grade 10 meets during the 9:15 am Sunday services and runs from early September until late June. Parents should register their children with the teacher before the service, or contact Gillian Floyd by email email@example.com.
During the 9:15 am services, children gather in the church hall for games and music. At 9:20 they hear the scripture story and have a chance to explore the story in a variety of ways. They may choose to do crafts, drama, games, sand/water play, or ‘detective work’. Some children do one zone others bounce between two or three. The children return to the church in time for the Children’s Talk at the chancel steps with the priest just before the Peace is shared. During the Eucharistic prayer children gather around the Holy Table and participate fully in the service.
Any older children in Grades 6 to 10 meet upstairs in the Youth Lounge.
Church School follows an age-appropriate, lectionary-based curriculum.
Younger children and babies are welcome in the Nursery, located on the main floor of the church.
During the summer, children can enjoy Summer Story Time, hosted by volunteers. A sign-up sheet for this will be in the Narthex sometime in May.
Our Church School Supervisor is Gillian Floyd (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you have any questions or concerns regarding Church School or you are considering helping in a classroom, please contact Gillian.
